Throwback Thursday: Kazinczy Carrot of Wisdom
It was during last summer that I noticed someone had been working hard on good old Kazinczy street, decorating the lamp posts and signs with these stickers. Some of them are still there, bit in tatters though and some similar stickers showed up in other areas too, but this is the (almost) complete inventory of the "carrot of wisdom" in its prime.

Throwback Thursday: Summer Sounds in (almost) Winter
Well winter has never been my cup of tea, so it's always great to remember summer festivals- and Balaton Sound is sort of the summeriest of them all, the right place and time for Paul Kalkbrenner's epic Sky and Sand. How would that sound in winter though? And generally, a festival in winter? That's one thing to find out, and well, now I can, for Sziget has a wintry sister, the aptly named Fridge ( http://www.sziget.hu/fridge/). Sky and snow, why not :)

Brace Yourselves- Winter is Coming (And It's Gonna Be Awesome!)
There will be snow.
There will be smoke on the water.
There will be festive lights.
There will be winter festivals.
There will be Trabis under the snow, which is kind of the awesomest thing of them all.
There will be hot pools in the deep freeze.
There will be winter fashion.
There will be cookies and drinks and gifts. And professional gift wrappers.
There will be winter wisdom.
There will be national holidays.
There will be Christmas trees. Predictably. Maybe less predictably some with a red star on top.
There will be flowers escaping the chill.
And of course there will be those who are sort of grumpy about the proceedings.
